The Farmhouse Edit: Edition 97

Hi friends!

Welcome to the 97th edition of The Farmhouse Edit: where we share what we’ve been coveting and discovering, from the best of beauty and beyond.

Beauty I'm Loving:

Mandelic Acid is one of the gentlest way to buff away dullness, soften fine lines, and support cell turnover without irritating sensitive or dry skin. Over time, consistent use visibly improves skin texture and firmness, making it a quiet anti-aging powerhouse. Use it after cleansing, follow with Dew Dream Spray Serum, seal with Inner Glow Face Oil and press on Eye Petals for a luminous morning-after glow.

Recipe I'm Loving:

Miso Butter Asparagus with Parmesan Serves 4

Original Recipe from NYT Cooking

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thick asparagus, woody ends trimmed, cut on the diagonal into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp white miso
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola or sunflower)
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup finely grated Parmesan
  • Coarsely ground black pepper, salt to taste

Method

Loosen the miso with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl and set aside. Get a large skillet screaming hot over medium-high, then add the oil, asparagus, garlic, and a generous amount of black pepper. Toss and stir for 2–3 minutes until the edges start to catch and colour. Add the butter and miso mixture, tossing quickly for another 30 seconds until everything is glossy and coated. Taste before adding salt — the miso and Parmesan do a lot of the work. Pile onto a plate and shower with Parmesan. Serve immediately. Feeling extra? Serve with a soft boiled egg to make this a decadent main.

Entertainment I'm Loving:

I don’t have a lot of words for this show but I can confirm I’m hooked. Gratuitous nudity, escapist panoramic views of the Cotswold’s, an underdog AND love story, redemption, failure, and some genuinely funny moments - Rivals is an unassuming show that you will enjoy diving into to wind down in the evening.
I’ve been looking forward to watching it before bed each night but admittedly end up staying up way too late to see what happens next.

Find of the Week:

I felt my makeup routine needed a revamp so I did what any logical person would do and took my concerns to my Sephora cart. I ordered some new launches and cult favs to give my routine a spring renewal. So far I’m loving each one and they actually have made a difference in my routine, and I was able to part with old products that were definitely expired and taking up space in my bathroom. Let’s dive into them below!

Shop My Cart:

m.ph Under Painting Palette: Mary Phillips is the makeup artist to Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and just about every casually cool girl in Hollywood so when she came out with her makeup line my eyes were peeled. After watching it on the market for months and seeing rave reviews, I finally felt like it was time to try it. The colours it comes with are perfect for sculpting the face - from cool to warm browns for both contouring and bonzing - plus highlight and colour correcting shades - this palette is everything your face needs to look snatched but not cakey. After using it you then go in with a very light foundation application in the areas you didn't contour so that you're not adding any extra makeup layers to the skin.

m.ph Under Painting Brush: you can buy the best makeup products but if you don't have the right tools you're missing half the experience. This brush compliments the products perfectly and it has a nice small head so you can get super precise.

Mac Eyeshadow Primer: I always through eyeshadow primer was useless, until I did a beautiful eyeshadow look and it was creased and melted off a few hours later. This is a cult fav product for good reason - it holds your eyeshadow in place, and is also gorgeous on its own to really brighten the eyelid.

One/Size Setting Spray: I never use setting spray but we're heading into the makeup melting months of summer and this lightweight spray really makes it last longer without feeling sticky or thick. I bought the travel size because you only use it sparingly and during certain months.

"The most nourishing things rarely ask for much — a little time, good ingredients, and the willingness to slow down."
