Beauty I'm Loving:
This is both a PSA and a recommendation: don’t wait to get your hair done. COVID made us very comfortable with waiting extra long in between highlights, colouring and haircuts. If we can do anything in 2026, let’s stop waiting to get our hair done. I pushed my hair cut and colour 5 months (!!!). I was starting to feel so drab - did I need a whole new wardrobe? A new skincare routine? No, I simply needed to deal with the absolute mop my overgrown hair had become. Thanks to my brother, the absolutely incredible hairdresser behind Toronto’s renowned Colour Lab Salon, I literally feel like a new person and no longer need a complete wardrobe overhaul. Paired with the right haircare products (Inner Glow as hair oil and the very best leave-in conditioner) - I’m ready to glow into the New Year.

Recipe I'm Loving:
I did a crazy amount of cooking prep for the holidays and one standout hit that I’m bringing into the New Year is homemade Gravlax. If you haven’t had it before, think smoked salmon’s cooler Scandinavian cousin - it’s a cured salmon that is lightly salty, fresh, and delicious. Best served with cream cheese and fresh bread or bagels. It’s so simple to make and an absolute show stopper.

Entertainment I'm Loving:
During the holidays I really got to dive into reading - it was such a treat to take a break from screens and pick up an actual paperback book, which I subsequently finished in a day because it was just so good (this was Pineapple Street - one of my previous recs). Now I’m onto The Wedding People which comes to me with rave reviews. At first it seems like a lighthearted beach read, but within the first few pages it reveals something a little darker. It’s an absolute page turner so far about a woman ready to change her life - inspiring perhaps? Or something more sinister? We’ll have to read more and find out.

Find of the Week:
I came to you raving about Victoria Beckham’s new foundation (which I stand by - it’s really THAT good). My mom and I set out on a mission to find comparable products, hopefully ones with SPF, and I believe we found two strong contenders. Both from the Korean brand Missha that touts an excellent blend of efficacy and affordability. I personally like mixing both of these products (I use No. 25 in the Perfect Cover Serum BB Cream and No. 21 in the SPF 42 Perfect Cover BB Cream). They blend seamlessly, offer great coverage (very similar to the VB foundation), are packed with skincare benefits AND SPF. They tend to carry a grey undertone but the beauty of this is it cancels out any redness in the skin; giving you a flawless, natural finish. My mom and I both agreed this was a killer product and has earned a spot in our daily rotation.
