Beauty I'm Loving:

My brother, an incredible hairdresser of over 10 years and haircare educator, has been teaching me a lot about scalp health and how it affects our hair growth, shine and quality. Especially in these drier months and if we have less than ideal water quality, we need to pay extra attention to our scalp. I have been testing and thoroughly enjoying these two scalp care products - I use them once a month and I have noticed such a difference (with minimal effort!) The scalp serum feels so soothing!

Recipe I'm Loving:

Have you ever heard of an elegant jam? Well let me introduce you: this Pear Vanilla Jam is fragrant, decadent, delicate and dare I say, elegant. The pear is lightly sweet but complex and the specks of vanilla (I swap vanilla bean paste for the actual pods) elevate it to another level. It is perfectly paired with cream cheese and fresh sourdough, but can be spread it on just about anything or dollop it on your morning parfait. It is a truly beautiful, unique and effortless jam to make.

Entertainment I'm Loving

A quiet, breathtaking novel about two strangers whose lives intersect in the most unexpected way. The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny is tender without being sentimental, sharp without being cold. It moves between heartbreak and hope with a softness that sneaks up on you — the kind of book you finish in one sitting, then sit with for days.
It’s a story about what it means to be seen, how connection can arrive when we least expect it, and the small, ordinary moments that shape us. If you’re craving a beautifully written, emotionally rich read for the new year, this one will stay with you long after the last page.

Find of The Week:

Have you noticed your lips are impossibly dry lately? Me too. I have had many conversations with our chemist and friends in the industry about what is THE answer. I hate to break it to you but the cutesy glossy balms with all of the flavourings are just drying our lips out more. These products are meant to make our lips look good while wearing them, but are doing absolutely nothing to actually hydrate and nourish them. Looking at the ingredients we can clearly see which ones are in there to add product to the lip that makes it look temporarily glossy and pouty, but they are lacking truly occlusive hydrating ingredients. Enter the simple answer: Vaseline and doing less. By constantly applying lip balm we are creating a dependency. We actually need to start using less product and the right product like a thick occlusive vaseline. Avoid flavourings or colours as these will dry the lips out. I have been loving this mini original Vaseline. The Rosy Lips version could be the perfect pop of colour but I fear it’s already breaking one of the rules - I will test and report back!
