Hi friends!
Welcome to the 104th edition of The Farmhouse Edit: where we share what we’ve been coveting and discovering, from the best of beauty and beyond.
Beauty I'm Loving:
My mom got me the CurrentBody red light mask for my birthday and I have genuinely not stopped wearing it since. We did so much research before landing on this one — compared basically every red light mask on the market — and it was the clear winner. The science behind it is real: it uses red and near-infrared light to stimulate collagen production deep in the skin, which means real plumping over time, softer fine lines, calmer irritation, fewer breakouts, and a visible fade in pigmentation. It's comfortable to wear (no weird pressure points, no awkward gaps), lightweight, and honestly kind of relaxing to sit in for 10 minutes while you scroll or wind down at night. Yes, it's an investment, but it does bring the treatment room home, so in reality we’re saving money, right!?

I know what you’re thinking: “another bean recipe, really!?” Yes, really. Because this recipe is really good. I have to give my mom full credit for finding it, and convincing me that I must make it. The deconstructed pesto make its so simple to make, really rich in flavour, and the perfect warm, nutritious, fall meal.
Creamy White Bean Basil Stew with Turmeric Pine Nuts
A cozy, creamy bean stew finished with fresh basil, lemon, and a sizzled turmeric-pine nut oil for crunch and warmth.
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- ¼ cup pine nuts or sliced almonds
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- Salt and pepper
- 3 large shallots, thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
- 5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 (15.5-ounce) cans cannellini beans, drained (or other creamy white beans)
- 1 cup vegetable or chicken stock
- 1 cup finely grated Parmesan (about 4 ounces), plus more for serving
- 1 ½ cups tightly packed basil leaves, preferably Genovese
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Toast the turmeric pine nuts. Warm 6 tablespoons of the olive oil in a 12-inch skillet or small Dutch oven over medium-low heat. Add the pine nuts and, once the oil starts to sizzle, stir occasionally until deep golden, about 5 minutes. Turn off the heat, stir in the turmeric, and season lightly with salt and pepper. Scoop into a small bowl and set aside — this is your finishing oil.
- Soften the shallots and garlic. In the same skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high. Add the shallots with a pinch of salt and cook, stirring, until just softened, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Simmer the beans. Stir in the cannellini beans and stock. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
- Melt in the cheese. Sprinkle in the Parmesan in a few additions, stirring well after each so it melts smoothly into the broth. Once the mixture looks glossy and creamy, taste and adjust salt, then remove from heat.
- Finish with basil. While the beans are still hot, tear (or roughly chop) the basil and fold it in.
- Serve. Ladle into bowls, spoon the turmeric pine nut oil generously over the top, and finish with a squeeze of lemon, extra black pepper, and more Parmesan if you like.

Entertainment I'm Loving:
I devoured this one faster than I'd like to admit. Emmy Rossum plays an FBI agent hunting a mysterious, calculating serial killer (played chillingly well by Lola Petticrew), and the way their stories start to tangle together is genuinely unsettling in the best way. It's tense, twisty, and has that "just one more episode" pull, the kind of show that makes you cancel your plans. Not a light watch, but if you love a dark, character-driven thriller, this one's a must.

Find of the Week:
Just because summer's winding down doesn't mean sunscreen is off the table; SPF is a year-round non-negotiable, and this one makes it easy to actually want to wear it. It goes on so sheer and lightweight, but somehow still gives the skin this gorgeous, glowy finish with no chalky cast, no greasy feel. And if you're prone to breakouts, this is the one to have on rotation; it's hydrating without clogging anything up, so you get sun protection and glowy skin without the trade-off.
