Everyday Essentials, From Home

Everyday Essentials, From Home

Workouts:

I’m sure you’ve heard enough about everyone’s at home fitness routine and could care less by now, but its obligatory! There’s no arguing that movement and increasing your heart rate will result in a better mood, improved circulation, and glowing skin. But it can be SO difficult when we’re preoccupied with staying fed and healthy. That’s when I turn to Melissa Wood workouts - they’re fast (between 15-25 minutes depending on the class you pick) and they go by really fast once you get started, they’re targeted so you can choose the area you want to focus on and not feel totally depleted, and I genuinely feel better after doing them. The Pilates flows aim to give you long, lean lines and they deliver on that promise. Since my daily schedule is constantly changing, I’ve struggled to find a workout regimen I can actually stick to despite the uncertainty in my days. Melissa Wood workouts are the only ones I’ve stuck to (asides from running) and give me actual results. Try her 7 day free trial to see if they’re your thing! Here are the few pieces of equipment I purchased for the classes:

Bala Weights / Pilates Ring / Resistance Bands

Cooking:

I cook a ton on a regular day, but with ample free time and no delivery options at the farm, cooking has become even more meditative for me than usual. I’ve been aiming for plant based meals that are full of flavour and are filling. Here are some recipes I’ve loved lately:

Chrissy Teigen’s Mango Sorbet (blend 1 1/2 lbs frozen mango, 3 tbs honey, 1/2 cup full fat coconut milk, pinch of kosher salt and serve - I also add a tbs of chia seeds sprinkled on top to make it a lil nutritious/fibrous).

Perfect Blueberry Muffins

Creamy Pesto Artichoke Pasta

The Perfect Pantry Meal

(I add a squeeze of lemon and drizzle of balsamic glaze)

For when you’re feeling really creative, here is the Babbo Goat Cheese Ravioli recipe that I’ve revisited twice it was so delicious. I use a basic pasta dough recipe that I found online instead of wontons, but the wrappers are much easier and less labour intensive.

Skin:

I’ve been reaching for products that will calm my nerves and soothe my skin at once (hello dry, stressed skin). Here are my must haves:

Saje Pocket Pharmacy

Inner Glow Face Oil

Naturopathica Gentle Enzyme Peel

Byredo La Tulipe Hand Cream - Smells like spring!
