Inner Glow Makeup Tutorial with Estelle Phillips

Inner Glow Makeup Tutorial with Estelle Phillips

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Estelle Phillips, one of the most incredible makeup artists, on creating the perfect every day glow from within makeup look! We based this look on our Inner Glow Face Oil, which provides the ultimate glow. This look layers luminous products in order to create a truly radiant, every day makeup look. You’ll notice Estelle mention that I would like the look even more as the day goes on and my natural oils blend with the cream products and she was absolutely right - it looked beautiful even at the very end of the day! You can watch the YouTube video here. While this look took some time to achieve, you can use just a few of the tips to create a simple glow on the go. Follow @estellephillips on Instagram for all of the brow and makeup inspo! Here are all of the products used and top tips for creating a glow from within every single day.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Use as much oil as you feel your skin needs, don’t worry about being too oily under makeup
  • Bring the foundation down your neck, even if its a tined or more sheer product to avoid any harsh lines and create a natural finish
  • Highlight under the brow to create brightness and it makes the brow appear fuller
  • Use primer on eyelids to avoid mascara smudging/racoon eyes
  • To create a seamless makeup look use cream products and blend bronzer into the hairline
  • You can use blush on your eyelids for a pop of colour
  • You can use a copper or warmer tone in the corner of the eye to make them really pop, you don’t alway have to use a lighter or pearly shade
  • This is my FAVOURITE tip I learned - you can add a copper reflective eye pencil (we used Laura Mercier) to create the illusion of a larger but also brighter eye (I now do this every day)
  • Use concealer in the ‘C’ area below the eye, not directly under it. Also avoid using a concealer that is too light as it can actually highlight the darkness
  • Treat breakouts with oil and love, try not to pick at them or use products that are too stripping or harsh. This can lead to scarring, discolouration, or prolonging the blemish
  • Feel the structure of your face to find what you want to highlight (the high points)
  • Put the lash curler as close to your lash line as possible, make sure they’re even, give it a few gentle pumps, and try to use a curler that is the same size as you lash line
  • Take your time doing your mascara - apply the first coat, let it dry, then return to add another coat
  • Avoid over lining the entire lip - only over line the cupids bow and bottom to achieve a more natural pouty look
