How to Treat Hyperpigmentation Simply and Naturally

One of the most common skincare questions we are asked is How to treat Hyperpigmentation.

Hyperpigmentation occurs when patches of skin become darker than the surrounding skin. It can be caused by the sun, after a breakout, or it can be melasma.

In treating hyperpigmentation, our goal is to lighten the dark spots with effective ingredients that target the area. Ingredients that work effectively in brightening these dark patches are Niacinamide, Vitamin C - both found naturally occurring in our Inner Glow Face Oil. Retinoids or Vitamin A - are also found in our Inner Glow Face Oil. Salicylic Acid, Rose Flower extract and Lemon Peel - both of which are abundant in our Dew Dream Spray Serum.

Retinoids work very well to brighten due to their small particle size - it penetrates deeply into the skin to have a stronger effect. One of our favourite, full-strength retinoids is Zo Skincare Rapid Night Repair.

Our powerful duo Dew Dream and Inner Glow also both have a small particle size to ensure maximum results - your skin will soak it right up!

Effective ways to prevent dark spots include limiting time in the sun, wearing sunscreen and treating breakouts delicately. When we use harsh ingredients and products on our breakouts, they are more likely to leave behind a dark scar.

Use gentle, nourishing products to speed up the healing time of the breakout and limit touching it to avoid further inflammation.
